Getting around in Umea:

Umea is a reatively compact city and travelling around the city is best done on either foot or by bicycle.

There are many excursions and guided tours out into the Umea province and Lapland by either snowmobile or husky dog drawn carriage. These modes of transport are both a great experience and a fantastic way to see the surrounding countryside. Guided tours and excursions should be organised through the local tourist office at Renmarkstorget 15, 903 26 Umeå, telephone +46 (0) 90 16 16 16

The central train station is located in the city centre and trains depart for all other parts of the country including an overnight train to Stockholm.
